The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Administration on March 14 started to implement a project to translate the Marx-Engels-Lenin and Ho Chi Minh classical collection from Vietnamese into Lao language.

According to Prof. Dr. Le Huu Nghia, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Administration (HNAPA), the project is being carried out by the HNAPA in coordination with the Laos National Academy for Politics and Public Administration (NAPPA) from 2007 to 2011 at an estimated cost of VND13.15 billion. The selected works being translated include six works written by Mark and Engels, four by Lenin and three by Ho Chi Minh, with a total number of 11,100 pages in Vietnamese (equivalent to 14,400 standard pages).

The project is an important part of the Vietnam-Laos economic, cultural and educational cooperation programme following an agreement previously signed between the two governments. It is aimed at boosting cooperation between the two countries’ academies, as well as strengthening traditional friendship and cooperative relations between the Party, State and people of both countries.

Prof. Dr. Thoong Sa Lit Mang No Mec, NAPPA Deputy Director, said that the project will meet the urgent requirements in training NAPPA officers and serving Lao academic study and research of Marxist theory and Ho Chi Minh Thoughts.
