Many organisations and businesses have sponsored the festival. In particular, the Hue Beer Company granted up to VND2 billion to the event, while France provided US$30,000 in aid to help the province train technical staff for the festival.
According to the festival’s organising board, as many as 31 art troupes from 21 countries have registered to take part in the event. They include France, Britain, the US, Russia, China, Cambodia, the Republic of Korea, Japan, India, Canada, Australia and Switzerland.
The opening ceremony of the nine-day festival will be held at Ngo Mon (Noon Gate) square on June 3. During the event, a wide range of activities will take place, such as the Nam Giao festival, an Ao dai (Vietnamese women’s long dress) fashion show, progammes entitled “royal palace night” and “Huong (Perfume) River legend”, an international sculpture camp, trade fairs and an international conference.
