On the occasion of the Hung Kings’ Temple Festival this year, the Mai Linh Corporation has made a special sticky rice cake, 1.8 square metres, arranged from 6,000 smaller cakes.
The cake is to be delivered to the people of the Hung Lo commune, Viet Tri city, in the northern province of Phu Tho. To make the cake, 2,700 kg of sticky rice, 540 kg of green peas, 630 kg of pork and 36,000 leaves of phrynium were used.
The cake has been put on display since April 3 (or Lunar March 9) in the centre of the Hung Kings’ Temple complex for people to contemplate. It will be divided and distributed to people visiting the festival on April 4.
The Mai Linh Corporation has also donated VND230 million to the historic relics board to build a house for displaying traditional products and to buy sound equipment for use at the festival this year.
