A stage production of Shakespeare's Macbeth by artists from the TNT Theatre will be performed in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang from October 26-November 4.

Macbeth, one of the four great Shakespearean tragedies from the 17th century, tells a tale of a corrosive urge for power at the price of conscience.

The director is Paul Stebbings, whose works have won many awards at the Munich Biennale, the Edinburgh Festival and the Tehran Festival.

Vietnam is one of three Asian countries TNT will visit this year.

In 2009 and 2010, TNT Theatre brought two classical works Romeo & Juliet and A Christmas Carol to Vietnam.

Since its foundation in 1980, TNT has performed in more than 30 countries and been described by the UK's Guardian newspaper as "the most interesting development on the current theatrical scenes."

The company seeks to integrate all the performing arts in a style of theatre that merits the name of TNT – "explosive theatre" or TNT which also means The New Theatre.

Macbeth, TNT Theatre's first Shakespeare production, has been performed in 31 countries worldwide since its premier in 2000.
