The Vietnam Museum of History in Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with the Kon Tum Museum, opened an exhibition titled "Lung Leng - The Mystery of the Prehistoric Central Highlands" on August 26.

The exhibition showcased nearly 1,000 artefacts excavated from the Lung Leng archaeological site, expressing ancient residents' creativeness in the Central Highlands region.

A collection of working tools from the Palaeolithic and Neolithic eras, pottery and jewellery, trunk tombs, and many valuable photos and scientific documents on the Lung Leng site are also being displayed at the showroom, which will be open until November.

Lung Leng, in Sa Binh commune, Kon Tum province's Sa Thay district, was unearthed in late 1999 and is considered one of the largest archaeological sites in Vietnam.
