Annual Long Bien Bridge Festival opened on November 20 on Long Bien Bridge in Hanoi.

The festival features an open art space focused in three main themes: the Bridge of Memory, the Bridge of Dreams, and International Friends with1000 years of Thang long-Hanoi.

The northern span (Hanoi to Gia Lam) of the bridge, called “the Bridge of Memory”, displays pictures, photographs, and traditional objects and costumes from the capital’s history.

The southern span (Gia Lam to Hanoi), called “the Bridge of Dreams", exhibits art works about Hanoi’s future and Vietnam during its process of global integration.

The highlight of the festival is “International friends with 1000 years of Thang Long-Hanoi” decorated with the flags of countries who participated in Hanoi’s 1000th birthday.

Other activities including concerts, a circus, cycling, a street festival and a fund raiser for flood victims in central provinces will take also place during the festival.

The event is scheduled to close on November 21.
