Vietnam’s “Little Heart” (Trai tim be bong) film by Director Nguyen Thanh Van will participate in the Best Southeast Asia Film Award at the Bangkok International Film Festival held from September 23-30 in Thailand.

At the event, Little Heart will compete with eight movies from other Asian countries, namely 12 Lotus (Singapore), Breathing in Mud (Malaysia), Day of Turquoise Sky (Malaysia), Love of Siam (Thailand), Now Showing (Philippines), Serbis (Philippines-France), The Photograph (Indonesia) and Years When I Was a Child Outside (Philippines).

Little Heart touches on an emerging issue in modern life, reflecting honestly and vividly on the lives of young people in poor countryside areas. The protagonists are longing to leave the countryside for the city despite many difficulties they know they must face.

The film has gained four prizes at the Golden Kite Awards 2007, held by the Vietnam Cinematography Association, including prizes for the best director, best music, best actress and a silver kite award.
