The National Conference on Literature & Arts Theory and criticism was held in Hanoi on March 2, drawing the participation of Chairman of the Ideological-Cultural Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Kkhoa Diem, Chairman of the Central Council of Literature and Art Theory and Criticism Pham Quang Nghi and more than 300 other representatives involved in the literature and arts sector.

As many as 40 reports from researchers of all literature and arts areas such as cinematography, music, theatre, dance, photography, fine arts, architecture and folklore were presented at the conference. These reports gave assessments of literature and arts theory and criticism after 20 years of implementing the national renovation process while pointing out positive points and weaknesses in the above area as the country pushes forward the international integration process.

Participants also proposed appropriate measures to positively influence literature and arts workers’ activities.

The conference closes on March 3.
