The “Tien Sa dance” began on the Han River in central Da Nang city on March 27 with firework displays by the two Vietnamese and Hong Kong teams.

Under the theme “Da Nang New Day”, the Vietnamese team’s fireworks looked very attractive in the images of a Vietnam map, a heart, stars and flowers. The Hong Kong team carried the message “coming to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games” in a colourful and splendid firework show.

Although they did not offer many surprises they created their own highlights. The Vietnamese team created a light rain from both sides of the Han River while the fireworks of the Hong Kong team looked like a dragon surfing on water.

         Watching firework displays

Thousands of people, including foreign visitors, gathered along the Han River to watch the firework display with keen interest and enthusiasm.

The Han River was lit up by thousands of flower garlands and coloured lanterns and fireworks in the sky. The light banquet to welcome the city’s 33rd anniversary of independent day was very impressive.

On the evening of March 28, Malaysian and Canadian teams will attract viewers with more spectacular firework displays.
