The Thang Long lantern parade, the largest ever of its kind, will be held around Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi to welcome the Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month (solar calendar dates).

The parade will include a 1,000-metre long parade of lions and dragons, 1,200 lanterns and 1,000 lotus blossoms. The main stage for performance will be put up at the Ly Thai To Statue next to Hoan Kiem Lake.

About 1,000 children from Hanoi’s inner districts will perform at the event to commemorate the late President Ho Chi Minh.
