The world’s largest cup of coffee as recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records arrived in Hanoi on April 8 after a long journey from Bien Hoa near HCM City.

After running through many cities and provinces nationwide, the fleet of vehicles carrying the cup stopped at the Sword Lake in the heart of Hanoi for local people to see and take photographs of it.

The inox cup, made by the Vinacafe Bien Hoa joint stock company, has a diameter of 2.34m and a volume of more than 3,613 litres.

It requires 160 people and 12 gas tanks to boil the water for coffee in this cup, which is sufficient to serve as many as 30,000 drinkers.

On April 9, the cup will continue its journey to the Hung Kings’ temples in northern Phu Tho province, which is considered the ancestral home of Vietnam.
