Laos’ Sekong province has pledged to provide 150cu.m of high quality timber for restoring a number of historical relics in the former imperial city of Hue, said Phan Ngoc Tho, a senior official of the Thua Thien - Hue provincial People’s Committee.

The wood will be used for the repair of wooden structures in the relics that were damaged by floods last year in order to timely serve visitors during Hue Festival 2008, he said.

Previously, the Lao government donated 200cu.m of precious wood for central Thua Thien-Hue province to restore the relics.
