The first lady of the Republic of Korea (RoK), Kwon Yang Suk cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Korean cultural centre in Hanoi on November 18, which is the first in Southeast Asia.

Present at the inauguration ceremony were RoK Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Eui-Ki, Vietnamese Minister of Culture and Information Le Doan Hop, and other senior officials from relevant agencies of both sides.

RoK ambassador said the aim of the centre is to introduce the RoK’s traditional and modern culture to Vietnam and further promote cultural and art exchanges between the two countries with a view to strengthening understanding and friendship between the two countries’ people.

Covering a total area of 1,000sq.m, the centre has a three-storey building, a garden and an extension. Inside the building are an exhibition room, a Korean culture room, a multi-media projection room, a reading room, a Korean-language classroom, and a meeting room.
