Judo Vietnam goes for gold at 27th SEA Games
(VOV) -Vietnam’s judo team is expected to clinch between three and six gold medals at the 27th SEA Games, scheduled for Myanmar later this month.
The 12-member squad will compete in 12 combative events for both men and women. According to chief coach Le Duy Hai, all Vietnamese judo athletes are predicted to secure top places at the coming Games, despite strong competition from other countries.

Hai pins high hope on Van Ngoc Tu (women’s 48kg category), Nguyen Thi Quynh (women’s 52kg category), Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc (women’s 57kg category), Nguyen Thi Hoa (women’s 63kg category), Dang Hao, Ngan Giang, and Hai Long.
Vietnamese judo athletes attended intensive training courses overseas to prepare for the region’s largest sporting event.
The national team is scheduled to leave for Myanmar on December 4, and begin their competition from December 17-21.
In the 26th SEA Games in Indonesia in 2011, the Vietnamese team achieved four gold medals.
