An exhibition of Japanese contemporary fine arts will be held for the first time in Hanoi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City from May 14-15.

The exhibition, themed “Journey to the Future: Fine Arts – New Generation of Japan”, will be organized by the Japan Foundation to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

On display will be 42 paintings, sculptures, and photography and video works by 11 contemporary Japanese artists that draw their inspiration from the daily lives of the Japanese people.

The organizing board said it hoped the exhibition would bring fresh look at contemporary Japanese fine arts in particular and Japanese art in general to Vietnamese audiences.
