The exhibition aims to improve visitors’ knowledge about the recent trends and features in the Japanese design industry and the nature of Japanese culture as a whole.
Among the products collected from the early post-war period are a Sony television from 1960 and a bulb that was inspired by traditional Japanese lanterns.
Organisers hope that the innovative displays will stimulate an exchange of ideas about industrial design between Japan and Vietnam and provide opportunity for Vietnamese visitors to learn more about contemporary life in Japan.
As part of the 2009 Mekong Japan Exchange series, the exhibition will be open until October 15 at 42 Yet Kieu street, Hanoi and later moved to Hai Phong and HCM City.
