A cultural exchange, which drew ambassadors’ wives and staff of 24 member countries of the Asia-Pacific Women’s Association in Japan, was held by the Vietnamese embassy in Japan on September 22.
Wives of former Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda and Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura were among the Japanese guests.
During the course of the event, the guests enjoyed cultural performances by Vietnamese artists and feasted on the country’s traditional dishes.
Vietnamese handicrafts, such as conical straw hats, lacquer paintings and other products were also showcased at the event.
The exchange has helped women in various countries in the Asia - Pacific region to gain an understanding of Vietnamese culture and national identity.
The wife of the Vietnamese ambassador to Japan, Le Thieu Ngan, said that the association’s mission is to hold friendly exchanges in order to improve the mutual understanding between the women of the member countries.
