The concert aims to encourage public participation in environmental protection, said organisers from the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam Students Association and the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam.

The famous Japanese singer will perform with local students and Vietnamese pop stars such as Thai Bao and Thu Huyen.

The Japanese environmentalist has bagged a number of prizes in Japan and performed in Vietnam in 1998.
