A six-day exhibition entitled Knowing the Ways of Restoration opened at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum on May 6.
Thirty photographs will present examples of successful restoration of ancient paintings such as the Cenacolo (The Last Supper) by Leonardo da Vinci, the Madonna del Cardellino (Madonna of the Goldfinch) by Raphael and the Saint Francis Cathedral by Assisi.
The photos in part reveal various Italian restoration methods applied to paintings, sculpture and architecture.
At the opening ceremony, restoration expert Maria Teresa Castellano spoke of her latest restoration project on one of Federico Barocci’s paintings.
