The delegation, led by former Minister of Culture Bengt Goransson of Sweden is visiting Vietnam to conduct a survey and make an independent assessment of the national report on the status of Vietnam's culture, and exchange views with Vietnamese experts on building and mapping out policies on cultural development for the future.
The international experts come from Finland, China, the Republic of Korea and Sweden.
In the 2002-2004 period, the ministry assigned the Culture and Information Institute to implement a Vietnam-Sweden cultural co-operation project on developing a national report on the status of Vietnam's culture. This is a scientific report on the cultural lives in Vietnam's 64 provinces and cities.
After the delegation completes its working visit in Vietnam in May 13, the ministry will submit the national report on the status of Vietnam's culture and the experts' assessment to relevant agencies in order to revise the policy on culture in Vietnam.
