This is the first international 800km tournament running through the Mekong Delta provinces of Soc Trang, Hau Giang, An Giang, Tra Vinh, Dong Thap, and Tien Giang, and finishing in Vinh Long city on December 31.

It has attracted strong Vietnamese teams including those from Hanoi, Military Zone 7, Sai Gon Plant Protection, Vinamit HCM City, Binh Duong, An Giang Plant Protection, Domesco Dong Thap, Can Tho, ADC-Television Vinh Long and two foreign teams from the Netherlands and Laos.

The organizing board will follow the International Cycling Union (ICU) rules for the event. The tournament has total prize money of more than VND300 million.
