The five Vietnamese troupes will be the Central Puppetry Theatre, Thang Long Puppetry Theatre, Hai Phong Puppetry Theatre, Dak Lak Puppetry Theatre and Ho Chi Minh City Puppetry Theatre.

Huyen Thoai Tien Rong (Legendary of the fairy and the dragon) presented by Thang Long Puppetry Theatre is highly respected.

The ten remaining countries will present 12 varieties under different styles, including water, rod, hand, rope, shadow, mask and stage puppetry.

The opening ceremony will take place at the Hanoi Opera House and other shows will be performed at the Central Puppetry Theatre, the Army Theatre and the Hanoi Youth Palace.

The jury is comprised of renowned puppetry artists, musicians and painters from Vietnam, Spain, France, China and Indonesia.
