The fireworks contest, entitled “Am vang song Han” (Echo on the Han River), involves five teams from China, Spain, Australia, the Philippines and Vietnam to mark the city’s 34^th Liberation Day (March 29).

Fireworks displays from the Filipino, Spanish and Vietnamese teams are scheduled for March 27 and those from China and Australia for March 28.

Apart from the fireworks there will be exhibitions of lanterns and paintings along with a food festival and a concert by Vietnamese and overseas artists.

According to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city is expecting to welcome a large number of tourists, about 20 percent more than in previous months.
