This year’s North Vietnam International Cycling Tournament has drawn the participation of 45 cyclists from nine teams, including two from the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Thailand, the organizing board said in Hanoi on May 17.
The cyclists will compete in six stages over 900 kilometres, through seven cities and provinces of Hanoi, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Haiphong, Quang Ninh and Lang Son, following the rules of the International Cycling Union (ICU).
Jointly held by Hanoi’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Motor-Bicycle Sports Federation, the event will take place from May 19-24 to mark the 122nd birth anniversary of the late President Ho Chi Minh and 20 years since the establishment of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic ties.
The tournament will also offer an opportunity for Vietnamese athletes to raise their ability and compete with international cyclists.
