Vietnamese Water Puppet shows performed by the National Puppet Theatre attracted the largest audience at the International Puppet Festival held in Tolosa, Spain from November 24 to December 2.
According to Vasco, a Spanish daily newspaper, co-director of International Puppet Festival Miguel Arreche spoke highly of the performance by the Vietnamese art troupe regarding it as one of the most praiseworthy during the festival.
The festival marked the return of Vietnam’s water puppetry since its impressive debut performance in 2002 when all the tickets sold out.
The participation of the Vietnamese troupe increased the number of artists attending the festival by 3,000 to nearly 25,000.
This year’s event showcased unique performances from 26 Asian, American and European art troupes.
