Nearly 340 artists from six Vietnamese art troupes and guest performers from the Laos National Art Troupe and the Cambodian Royal Art Troupe gathered in central Quang Tri province on July 20 for an art festival of the three Indochinese countries.

The festival began with a suite presented by music composer Trong Dai from the Thang Long Music and Dance Theatre.

The event is part of activities of the 2007 Trans-Asia Bridge Span Festival, which is being held in Quang Tri from July 20-28. It aims to boost art and cultural exchanges and promote tourism potential of the three Indochinese countries. It also offers a good opportunity for them to strengthen traditional relations and honour cultural values of each country as well as great contributions by artists from different troupes.

The event was co-organised by the Performing Arts Department and the provincial Department of Culture and Information.
