The festival is a significant cultural event, representing the emotion and deep gratitude of artists working in the culture and arts field to those who laid down their lives for the independence and freedom of the nation.

The Indochina art festival, which drew eight domestic and foreign art troupes, ended in central Quang Tri province on July 24.

At the closing ceremony, 13 items from 8 art troupes were awarded gold and silver medals. The art troupe from northern Son La province won the most prizes with three gold medals and three silver medals.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Vice Minister of Culture and Information Do Quy Doan said the festival was held at a time that Party and Vietnamese people are celebrating the 60th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27) to honour and commemorate the services of heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, and heroic Vietnamese mothers for national liberation.
