The Ibsen Festival in Vietnam opened in Hanoi on October 28 as part of the cultural activities launched by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Hanoi in coordination with the Vietnam Ministry of Culture and Information to introduce the great Norwegian play wright Nauy Henrik on his 100th birth anniversary.

The Festival includes the introduction of Ibsen's plays, publications, exhibition and seminar “in our time” in Hanoi and HCM City.


A meeting with students will also be organised at the National University in Hanoi. The target group is not only be among professionals but also general audience, young writers, stage workers and students.


Ibsen was first introduced in Vietnam in the early 1970s with the translation of his well-known plays such as A Doll's House, Brand, Peer Gynt, Ghosts, The Wild Duck.
