The Huong (Perfume) pagoda festival officially began in My Duc district, northern Ha Tay province, on February 12 - the 6th day of the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival - with the participation of 20,000 people.
One of the festival highlights was the “niem huong ky nguyen” ceremony to wish best things for the nation and people, said Venerable Thich Minh Hien from Huong pagoda. There were also many special art programmes.
The road to the pagoda has been upgraded, allowing cars to reach Trinh temple. The Yen stream has been also dredged up. There are nearly 4,000 boats available to serve tourists during the Tet holiday.
