The national Hung Kings festival will officially open at 8.pm on April 14 in the northern mid-land province of Phu Tho.

Nguyen Ngoc An, Head of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Deputy Head of the festival’s organising board said that the Hung Kings festival is composed of two parts.

Earlier in the morning, a parade highlighting the traditional culture of the northeastern provinces and 13 districts and towns of Phu Tho province was held at 7.am and followed by the inauguration of the Hung Kings Museum.

Various activities including a northeastern cultural camp, a Hung Kings exhibition, a display of photos and paintings and sports competition will also be held during the festival.

A memorial service is scheduled to start at 7.am on April 24 for local people and visitors to offer incense to the Hung Kings at their temple complex.
