Training was given to over 150 staff serving the conference and more than 50 volunteer students from the French Department of the Hue Foreign Languages University.
They all have undergone special training courses in order to make the first ever AIMF conference in Vietnam a big success.
The former Royal City of Hue became an AIMF member in 1992, which now boasts a membership of 166 cities in 46 countries.
The city of UNESCO-recognised world cultural heritage has benefited much from AIMF-funded communal projects such as dredging the Ngu Ha river with an investment of 109,000 euros and construction of the Thuan Loc market at a cost of 100,000 euros.
Other projects included 150,000 euros for the upgrade and expansion of sewerage systems and 33,000 euros for the establishment of a French lab.
The AIMF also helped the city build the Vietnam-France Cultural Exchange Centre, equip the municipal Children’s Palace and upgrade the Thong Nhat primary school and the Hai Ba Trung National School.
