The Hong Kong Welsh Male Voice Choir will perform at a charity dinner in Ho Chi Minh City on October 20 to raise funds for orphans.

Its 45 members will participate in “Songs for a Brighter Future”, a programme hosted by the Caravelle Hotel, together with dozens of top Vietnamese singers and the Philippines’ Sapphire band. The choir will sing Welsh folk songs.

The organizer said the proceeds from ticket sales would be given directly to children from the Saigon South Boys Orphanage, a centre that cares for 110 orphan boys. Some of the children will also take part in the event.

The choir performed at the hotel last year, raising US$14.800 for charity.
