Vo Hoang Yen is a new face in Vietnam’s fashion industry. The 21-year-old model (1.79m, 90-62-92) won the gold prize at Vietnam Supermodel 2008 and was first runner-up in Miss Universe Vietnam 2008.

A representative from the Hoan Vu Joint Stock Company, the unit directly in charge of selecting Vietnamese contestants for Miss Universe 2009, said that Yen now has a busy schedule taking courses on international communication skills, acting and dancing, knowledge of culture and tourism as well as foreign languages.

Earlier, Yen was nominated as Vietnam’s representative for Miss Universe 2009 after Miss Vietnam Tourism 2008 Phan Thi Ngoc Diem withdrew from the nomination list.
