Gong players from K'Sia village in the Central Highlands city of Buon Ma Thuot will make a tour of France from February 11 to 17 at the invitation of the France-Vietnam Cultural Development Cooperation Committee, said the provincial department of culture and information.

During the tour, gong players of the Ede ethnic minority group will provide French music lovers in different cities with a chance to enjoy various melodies of this unique kind of traditional musical instrument of the central Highlanders.

They will also make exchanges with a number of delegations of Western European artists and meet with the France-based overseas Vietnamese Association.

The gong culture of ethnic minority people in the Central Highlands was recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a Masterpiece of Humanity's Oral and Intangible Heritage in 2006.
