The Ministry of Information and Culture on June 23 presented a certificate of merit to the Moet Hennessy Asia Pacific (MHAP) for its efforts in bringing world classical music to the Vietnamese people over the last 10 years.

Since its debut in Vietnam in 1996, the MHAP has held the Hennessy Concert Series, bringing many world-renowned artists to Vietnam, including the Russian cellist Mstislav Rostropovich, opera singer Barbara Bonney, and the Evoica Trio from New York.

Vietnamese music lovers last year had a chance to enjoy classic pieces by the US violinist Grammy 2001 winner, Hilary Hahn and the Chinese piano prodigy Natalie Zhu (Lang Lang).

The Ministry also presented the insignia “For the Development of Information and Culture” to Regional Managing Director Mark Francis Bedingham and former director of the representative office Laurent Morel for their contributions to the organisation of the concert series over the last 10 years.
