The VOV bureau in HCM City has granted the first prize worth VND10 million of the ethnic minorities and the national unity bloc contest to a resident of the city.

Nguyen Thi Ly won the contest with a 169-page entry that depicts 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups and their main cultural features.

She said her entire family are fond of the literature and culture of ethnic minorities nationwide and have gone to long lengths to collect materials on them.

The contest was launched by VOV on March 1 and received 500 entries from across the country.

Participants in the contest said they love to research the lives and cultures of ethnic communities and prided themselves on national solidarity between these communities.
