The Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF) and the Hanoi University of Technology signed a memorandum of understating to establish a library in Hanoi on October 4.

A project entitled “Vietnam Book Drive” was launched in New York on October 2 to set up a library for students at the Hanoi University of Technology.

The project has drawn the participation of scholars from the Viet Nam Education Foundation Fellows Association (VEFFA), individuals, organisations and lecturers at US universities. The programme aims to provide up-to-date document resources for tertiary training in Vietnam.

From now until February 2008, VEFFA plans to donate nearly 400 textbooks to the library.

The project also received US$9,940 in donations from over 100 people who were present at the launch.
