The 2008-2009 drawing contest, themed “This is My Life,” will be launched in 25 Asian countries and territories, including Vietnam. Each participating country will organise its national competition in 2008 and select the eight best collections of illustrated diaries by children to attend the international round.

Vietnam’s national contest, launched on August 15, will receive entries from October 13-31.

This is the first time Vietnam will organise such an event, said Vi Kien Thanh, Deputy Head of the ministry’s Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition. This is also the sixth time Vietnam has attended the Mitsubishi Asian Children’s Enikki Festa, formerly the Festivals of Asian Children’s Arts. It is jointly organised by the Mitsubishi Public Affairs Committee, the Asia-Pacific Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations and the National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan.
