Le Thuy Quyen from the Phuong Dong People-founded University in Hanoi was nominated for the 2007 World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) award for her research on making fungus product for preventing plant-killing insects.

She has just won the 2006 VIFOTECH, the Vietnamese prize for creation in science and technology, for her work, entitled "Research on the Technology to Produce Fungus Metarhizium Anisopliae Sorok for Preventing Plant-eating Insects," along with 70 other research projects by students. 

Quyen was also awarded the "Students' Scientific Research Award," together with 510 other works.
