A contest on the Republic of Korea (RoK) was launched in Hanoi on September 6 to enhance Vietnamese people's understanding of the RoK and boost cultural relations between the two countries.

All Vietnamese people aged 15 and above can participate in the contest with an essay, a short video clip, or a photo collection spotlighting the land, people and culture of the RoK. Entries should be sent to the organising board between September 15 and December 1.

A visit to the RoK will be granted to two special prize winners of the contest, VND5 million (US$310) to each of two first prize winners and VND3 million to two runners-up. In addition, there will be 4 third prizes, each worth VND2 million, and 25 consolation prizes.

The annual contest has been jointly organised by the Vietnam-RoK Friendship Association, the Hanoi Cultural Fund and the Korean embassy in Vietnam under the sponsorship of the Korean government since 2001.

More information about the contest is available at www.hanquocngaynay.com.
