The event aims to promote friendship relations and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK).

The RoK Film Festival is being held at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi from May 8 to 10 by the RoK Embassy, the RoK Cultural Centre, Seoul Shinmun Daily and the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to mark the 16th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The special art performance will be held at 6.30pm on May 8 with the participation of famous Korean and Vietnamese singers and artists. In particular, audiences will have a chance to meet with renowned Korean actress Lee Young Ah – one of top 10 most famous actresses selected by SBS and Vietnamese actress Nhu Quynh, who are main characters in the TV movie Golden Bride.

At a press briefing in Hanoi on May 8, Lee Young Ah said that to be cast in the Golden Bride film she read many books about Vietnam and learnt Vietnamese. She also met Vietnamese brides who are living in the RoK.
