Stamp collections from seven Vietnamese philatelists are being showcased at an exhibition entitled “the Cosmos” held at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Hanoi on October 3.

The opening ceremony was attended by Vice Minister of Information and Communication Tran Duc Lai Russian ambassador to Vietnam Vadim Seraphimove, President of Vietnam Stamp Association Hoang Tho Thai and representatives from Vietnam-Russian friendship organisations and many individual stamp philatelists.

On show were stamps from many countries such as Russia, Albania, Mongolia, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Madagascar, China and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Notably, one stamp is considered to be one of the first stamps ever issued by Russia to mark the launch of the world’s first artificial satellite on November 5, 1957.

The event was co-organised by the Russia Centre for Science and Culture, Vietnam Stamp Association, and the Hanoi Stamp Association.

The exhibition will run until October 7.
