The event was attended by politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi, representatives from relevant ministries and sectors and Hanoi’s best students.

The activity aims to honour students who have gained outstanding achievements in their studies and the highest results at university graduation examinations in the 2005-2006 academic year.

During the past three years, Hanoi has commended 309 outstanding graduates from universities, colleges and institutes in the municipal area. Of that number, 30 percent find jobs at State agencies, 31 percent continue their studies and research work, 21 percent work for foreign-invested companies and 13 percent engage study overseas.

The exceptional outstanding graduates have made the most of their capabilities and qualifications to make initial contributions to national development.
