The awards presentation took place in northern Nam Dinh province on November 24.

The Silver Lotus awards went to three films, namely Dong Mau Anh Hung (The Rebel), Mua Len Trau (Buffalo Boy) and Chuyen Cua Pao (Pao’s Story).

The jury also presented prizes to three other films, including Song Trong So Hai (Living in Fear), Ao Lua Ha Dong (The White Silk Dress) and Vu Dieu Tu Than (Death Dance).

Meanwhile, Hai Yen in Pao’s Story and Ngo Thanh Van in The Rebel won best actress title, while Quoc Khanh in The White Silk Dress was named as best actor.

The best director was Nguyen Vo Nghiem Minh, and best cameramen went to Le THai Dung and Dominic Pereira.

The best science documentary film went to Su Song O Rung Cuc Phuong (Life in Cuc Phuong Forest).

The 16^th Vietnam Film Festival will be held in Ho Chi Minh City in December 2009.
