The “Friendship Connections” programme will be held in the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology on May 29-30 to celebrate International Children’s Day.

The programme is being carried out by the museum in coordination with the embassies of the United Kingdom, Austria, India, Germany, Russia, Japan, the Philippines and Thailand.

The event is an opportunity for both Vietnamese and foreign children in Hanoi to represent the culture of their own countries through fashion shows, dancing, singing, music, games and toys. The activities will help children to learn more about their similarities and differences and the cultural integration of countries worldwide.

The cultural diversity of the countries taking part will be shown with shows of traditional costumes from Vietnam, India, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Austria and Russia, as well as songs and dances from India, Russia and Germany; performed by both Vietnamese and foreign children.

A number of traditional games will also be played. In particular, the children will learn how to make traditional Vietnamese toys and enjoy popular Vietnamese and global films in 3D. Story teller Nguyen Van Long will also keep the children entertained with a selection of folk tales. There will also be a number of Japanese and Vietnamese comics available for the children to read.
