The exhibition displays 156 paintings in oil, lacquer and mixed materials as well as sculptures, presenting natural landscapes and portraits of daily life in the northern part of the country, especially Hanoi.
Artist Nguyen Thi My said she used oil and other materials to express her favourite subjects, including Hanoi’s landscapes, fish and still life.
The 43-year-old artist's work Buoi Chieu (Evening) depicts the corner of a quiet street in the capital.
My has several solo and group exhibitions in the country to her credit.
The exhibition also features oil and lacquer paintings by other artists, including Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, Nguyen Thanh Cong, Nguyen Xuan Lan, Nguyen Van Ha, Tan Dinh Truong, Vu Xuan Hien, and Pham Chinh Trung.
The exhibition will last until November 7 at the museum, which is located at 97A Pho Duc Chinh street in district 1.
