An imposing art performance is scheduled to be held on Lunar New Year's Eve in Hanoi on February 16 to celebrate Vietnam's achievements during its renovation and integration process.

The show, which is also aimed at promoting the country's cultural identities, will be hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Information, according to Le Ngoc Cuong, Director of the Performance Art Department.

A striking parade by 460 artists from many localities nationwide which will be a curtain- raiser for the show is expected to leave great impressions with women wearing unique costumes of 54 ethnic groups living in Vietnam.

The repertoire will also feature time-honoured diversion and cultural activities of different areas across the country like puppet-shows, walking on silts and performing gong, in addition to performances by characters from ancient classical drama and traditional operetta.

A musical combining different elements from traditional and modern art will wrap up the event.
