Almost 30 photos of Vietnam taken by two German women during their visit to Vietnam in 1999 are on display at an exhibition that opened on September 17 at the Democratic Women's Union headquarters in Lichtenberg district, Berlin.
Through black and white and colour photos, visitors realise the ordinary life of Vietnamese families as well as the rich vibrant culture of the country.
Susanne Jankowsky, one of the two photographers, said she had witnessed a peaceful Vietnam during her visit eight years ago. She added that the exhibitors would return to Vietnam in 2010.
Within the exhibition's programme, three photographers from the Vietnamese Photographers' Club in Berlin also displayed their photos featuring the land and people of Vietnam in order to provide German people a more sufficient insight about the Southeast Asian country.
