Urban Consult, a German organisation based in Berlin, held a function in Berlin on May 30 to introduce Vietnamese people and culture, with the participation of many Vietnamese, Germans and other foreigners living in the country.

The event was one of the organisation’s annual activities to introduce the land, people and cultural diversification of countries in the world, including Vietnam, said Urban-Consult President Marion Garbotz.

She said her organisation is carrying out several projects to assist foreign nationals, including the opening of German-language classes for foreigners.

Ms Garbotz added that although the poor command of the native language is one of formidable barriers to Vietnamese nationals’ efforts to integrate into the host country, it is important to preserve the Vietnamese language among the second and third Vietnamese generations who were born in Germany.
