Futsal Vietnam prepare for int’l quartet tourney
(VOV) - Chief coach Sergio Gargelli has decided to summon goalie Phuoc Anh for training in the lead up to the 2012 International Quartet Tournament.
Phuoc Anh did not called in for the previous training as he was playing for RBAC Football Club of the Thai Premier League.
Gergelli also summoned Thai Lam Son FC player Doan Ngoc Hao, who has recently made impressive achievements in his career, including the champions at the 2011 national futsal and 2012 HCM City futsal tournaments, and the third-runner up of the 2011 futsal FC tournament.
“We consider the upcoming quartet tournament a good chance for Futsal Vietnam to glean experience from international competitions,” said Tran Anh Tu, head of the Futsal Vietnam delegation.
“Our players will test their performing skills and learn from tactics by Kuwait, Uzbekistan and Italy.”
The quartet tournament will take place at HCM City’s Tan Binh Competition House on October 25-27.
Each team will play only two games, and the winners will be named after the organising board compare scores.
The winners will receive the Cup and a cash prize worth US$5,000. The first and second runners-up will get cash prizes worth US$3,000 and US$1,000, respectively.
The organising board will also present rewards worth US$200 each to the Best Player, the Best Scorer, and the Best Goalkeeper of the event.
After the tournament, Futsal Vietnam will play two friendlies with Kuwait and Uzbekistan later this month.
